Module information

While much of the methodology is found in Chapter 4 of the Guides, the module also covers the approach required to use other parts of the Guides to assess certain impairments, particularly peripheral nerve injury.
The module covers
- The methodology for assessing impairment of the forebrain including evaluation of mental status, brain injury causing behavioural change, epilepsy, and major motor and sensory disorders
- The methodology for assessing impairment from spinal cord injury and the approach to be taken when an alternative spine assessment has been conducted using Chapter 3 of the Guides
- The methodology for assessing cranial nerve dysfunction, including the approach to be taken when a more specific method of assessment is available from another Chapter of the Guides (such as when cranial nerves affecting vision are involved)
- The methodology for assessing peripheral nerves which includes the approach to estimate (or grade) the extent of damage of a peripheral nerve, including the branchial plexus.
