This is a Stream 2 module and it’s designed for doctors that have already successfully completed the Stream 1 module and hold that accreditation. Accreditation requires you to attend the session as well as successfully completing the module assessment.

Successful completion of the Stream 2 module will lead to awarding of the following update to accreditation:

  1. Spine Update

If you have not already successfully completed the Steam 1 module you want to gain that accreditation, please go back to the homepage and enrol in the module entitled: Spine (Stream 1) and Spinal Impairment Guides Modification Documents (Stream 1).

Please Note: At this time there is no specific Stream 2 update training on the Spinal Impairment Guides Modification Document as the Steam 1 module was only taught for the first time in 2017. Please contact the training provider if you would like to express interest in Stream 2 training when it becomes available.

Module information

This module covers criteria for assessing spine using both the methodology from Chapter 3 of the Guides.

The module covers:

  • The key concepts that apply to assessment of Spinal Impairment.
  • The way in which some terms are given specific meaning within the Guides is different that from clinical practice.
  • A logical path for consideration of Spinal Impairment, whether using the Guides.
  • Apportionment of Impairment: The approach required to disentangle what impairment may or may not be related to a compensable event.


By completing/passing this course, you will attain the certificate Spine Update Module of Impairment Assessment Training
